FACE & HEAD PAIN

What is the root cause of my face or head pain?

Face pain and head pain can be caused by neurological conditions, nerve pain, headaches, migraines, Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ), or injury. Allergies, sinus problems, dental problems, or stress could also be contributing factors. While sudden face or head pain can be caused from simple movements such as smiling or chewing, many underlying conditions can cause face or head pain, and simple movements can trigger pain.

TMJ pain commonly causes teeth grinding (bruxism), stress and anxiety, jaw injuries, misaligned bite (malocclusion), arthritis in the jaw joint, excessive gum chewing, poor posture, hormonal changes, and overuse of jaw muscles due to habits such as nail biting or chewing on hard objects.
